Louise Delamere on why her actor husband would be ‘awful’ in Holby City

Holby City star Louise Delamere has said she doesn't think her actor husband Stephen Mangan would fit in as a guest star on the show.

The actress - who has two sons with the Episodes star - plays no-nonsense nurse Colette Sheward in the BBC medical drama.

Asked if she'd like her husband to appear on the show, Louise said: “He couldn't be a patient - he'd be awful at it!

“The last time he played a doctor was in the comedy Green Wing as [lothario surgeon] Guy Secretan - and if Guy arrived in Holby, he'd be up for malpractice in a minute. The nurses wouldn't be safe either.”

Louise previously played a nurse in Channel 4 comedy drama No Angels.

She revealed she'd love Sunetra Sarka, who played trainee nurse Anji in No Angels and now stars as Dr Zoe Hanna in Casualty, to appear in sister show Holby City.

Louise said: “I had a get-together with the No Angels girls recently - we have such a strong bond, just like our characters.

“I’d love it if Sunetra did a crossover episode with Holby.

“I think Zoe and Colette would be really good friends.”
