Alan Carr: ‘Working in a call centre was good practise for Chatty Man!’

Alan Carr is gearing up for his new one-off, feature-length show Alan Carr’s Chatty Man Summer Special.

The presenter with the gift-of-the-gab will be chatting to Hollywood hunk Vin Diesel, Call the Midwife’s Miranda Hart, the stars of The Inbetweeners Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison, with a performance from Rizzle Kicks.

But despite the programme being ninety minutes long, Alan revealed to What’s on TV, he’s up for the chatty challenge:

"I'm a chatty person and love meeting new people. Working in a call centre gave me really good practice at talking to anyone. I should do Chatty Man wearing a headset!”

The show, which will have a free-flowing supply of booze, will see Alan encouraging his guests to get involved in some fun and games.

He said: “There will be loads of alcohol! It’s the middle of the summertime we’re having lovely weather, let’s have fun.

“I always get involved and throw myself in. You can’t expect celebs to come on and not join in [yourself]. When you throw a party and people come round you want to be the hostess-with-the-mostess, don't you?"

Alan, 38, who will be talking to The Inbetweeners boys about their new road trip film The Inbetweeners 2, reminisced about an eventful holiday of his own in Mykonos.

Alan joked: "I've got loads of road trip stories. I once got so drunk on a holiday in Mykonos that I lost me shorts, and they got handed in at reception!

"I left my shorts in Mykonos and my heart in San Francisco!"
