Couch Potato Pickings: Hitchcock Week - what’s your favourite Hitch movie?

Rebecca

What’s your favourite Hitchcock film?

It’s a question people ask me from time to time and my answer is always the same - Rebecca.

Nevertheless, just lately, I’ve shied away from answering this query because my response always produces an unnerving reaction from my interrogators - a twitch of an eyebrow, a nervous blink or a noticeably raised pitch in the voice.

This makes me wonder if there’s a tendency for people make preconceptions about your fave Hitch choices based on the way you behave. Maybe, the truth is that my personal neuroses appear far greater than my choice of Hitch movie suggests.

Hmm, slightly perturbed by this thought, I tested myself with a Which Alfred Hitchcock Film Are You? test.

Apparently my various hang-ups define me as The Birds, so that explains a lot. I’ll probably get a nod and a smile and a wink if I try answering that next time.

The Birds
