Life hasn't quite panned out the way that Marilyn Chambers planned in Home and Away...

Today's Home and Away sees Marilyn Chambers struggling with life without husband John Palmer by her side... but will anyone be able to help lonely Marylin before she hits rock bottom?

The last six weeks have been harder than ever for Marilyn and John as they fight to look after son Jett who was left with a spinal injury after getting caught up in an explosion while in Afghanistan with the army.

But with Jett finding it hard to come to terms with his life-long injuries, the family decided it would be good for him to have some independence with his own place in the city.

But as Jett settles into his new home, John has been staying with him while Marilyn has been left home alone in Summer Bay.

But today sees John's absence take its toll on Marilyn as she starts to struggle with her loneliness, especially now Raffy Morgan has also moved back to live with her brothers and sister.

As she bumps into Raffy and Ryder by the beach, Marilyn asks the pair if they would like to spend some time together, but they both have things to be doing, leaving Marilyn alone once again.

It's only when later Alf Stewart finds her sitting all alone on the pier and staring out to sea that Marilyn finally opens up about the fact she is missing John, and the pair bond over their long distance relationships that don't seem to be making either of them happy.

Later Roo and Irene try to cheer Marilyn up with a cuppa at the diner, but Marilyn's happiness at being surrounded by her friends is short-lived when she invites Raffy over for a girls' night in and she turns it down in favour of having a family meal with the Morgans.

But Raffy can see that all is not well with Marilyn and later that evening, just as Marilyn is about to sit down for a dinner for one, she is thrilled when Raffy turns up and asks if she can move back in!

Over the moon at having someone else in the house with her, Marilyn couldn't be happier... but it seems things are set to take a sinister turn.

Tomorrow's (26th July) Home and Away will see John return for a brief visit to the Bay, but after taking on too much as usual, he then has an accident after falling asleep at the wheel of his car.

Is Marilyn's heartache about to get a whole lot worse?
