Gary Barlow is set to receive an OBE in recognition of his efforts organising the Diamond Jubilee concert, according to the papers. The Sun reports that the X Factor judge will be officially honoured when the Queen's birthday honours list is released next weekend. And he is also being recognised for writing and performing the official Jubilee single Sing along with Andrew Lloyd Webber. "The Queen was delighted with Gary Barlow's brilliant work and dedication," a source told the paper. "She made it clear he should be rewarded at the first available opportunity." The Take That star spent a year organising the Jubilee bash outside Buckingham Palace, which featured performances from some of the biggest names in music including Sir Elton John, Paul McCartney, Tom Jons and Cliff Richard. He also visited the Queen at Windsor to update her on preparations for the show, as well as gathering 210 singers from the Commonwealth to appear on Sing. The concert was shown on BBC1 on Monday and attended by an audience of 18,000, as well as being watched by 17m viewers. Gary is currently filming auditions for the new series of The X Factor which begins later this summer.
