Gary Barlow threatens to quit X Factor

Gary Barlow has reportedly threatened to leave The X Factor unless there are improvements in the next series, according to the papers.

The Sunday People has reported that the Take That star is due to meet with bosses from Simon Cowell's company Syco in the next week to discuss changes for the show.

And there are claims he will not sign up for the next series unless he likes what he sees.

"Gary has made it clear he will not be on the show unless the problems from last year are corrected and something fabulous is offered for the viewers," a source told the paper.

"He knows the risks, X Factor could easily struggle against the competition if things aren't done right this time around.

He wants to know that they’re going to stop poking fun at the show, he wants serious singers and to know who will be on the judging panel," the insider added.

“It’s crunch time at the end of the week and you just can’t call what it he is going to do. If he doesn’t sign the deal it could leave Simon and his team with a huge problem.”

Speculation has continued to mount over whether or not all of the judges will return for the next series.

Louis Walsh will reportedly be back, while Nicole Scherzinger is tipped to return - while there are rumours that Sharon Osbourne could also be back.

The show is also set to undergo a revamp after viewing figures fell by 2m in 2012 - with changes including the return of the intimate audition setting, in which hopefuls perform only for the judges before progressing to an audition in front of a live audience.
