Fifty Shades Of Grey star Jamie Dornan has revealed that he once shared a flat with recent Bafta winner Eddie Redmayne.

Although both actors have hit the big time in recent years, they were struggling actors trying to find work in Hollywood when they lived together.

Appearing on Friday night’s Graham Norton Show, Jamie said: "We had long stints when we tried and failed to work. We were really unemployed and really single. We did nothing - it was really bleak.

"We used to have the same agency and they would send three scripts to Eddie and 26 to me, which just meant there were 23 more jobs I tried and failed to get."

Things are different now though with Jamie finding success in BBC2's serial killer drama The Fall and landing the top role in one of the year's most anticipated movies. Meanwhile, Eddie has appeared in a raft of successful films including Les Miserables and The Theory Of Everything, for which he won the Bafta for his role as Stephen Hawking.

Jamie also said he is going to flee the country to avoid the hype and controversy surrounding Fifty Shades of Grey.

The cast of the film, which is based EL James' hit erotic novel, were greeted by adoring fans - along with protesters who say the film promotes abuse - at its London premiere in Leicester Square on Thursday.

He said: "I am fleeing the country. I am certainly not going to stand in Leicester Square without my shirt, asking people if they enjoyed the movie! I am keeping a low profile."

Jamie, who plays suave businessman Christian Grey who seduces college student Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) into an S&M relationship, added that it was "a relief" now that the film had been released.
