Matt Cardle and Mel C confirm 'intimate' relationship

Matt Cardle and Mel C have finally silenced months of rumours by confirming they are in an 'intimate' relationship.

According to The Sun on Sunday, the pair have grown closer over the past few months since working together on the duet Loving You.

However a source said they had no plans to officially become boyfriend and girlfriend.

"Yes, they started seeing each other a few months ago," the insider told the paper.

“It was short-lived initially because the passion started to fizzle out — but they’ve been working together lately and the attraction and chemistry between them is clear.”

The source added it was unlikely to become more serious because Matt was 'too crazy' for Mel 'in respect of the booze and party lifestyle', saying: "They are having fun but Matt always has someone on the go.”

“I know Mel wants to help Matt do well and she really thinks a lot of him.”

Matt - who sprang to fame after winning The X Factor in 2010 - has previously remained coy when asked about his relationship with Mel - aka Sporty Spice.

"We get on so well, I love her," he said on a recent edition of Loose Women.

"I've got so much love and respect for Mel. Of course people are going to speculate."
