A Muslim man has quit The Island With Bear Grylls because being around women in bikinis is against his faith.

Contestant Rizwan Shabir, a mobile phone shop owner from Bradford, will be seen leaving Bear Grylls’ Channel 4 reality TV show tonight.

The father-of-three is seen struggling with his decision.

A scene from The Island

Rizwan Shabir is seen in tears on The Island (Channel 4)

He says: “At the end of the day I am a Muslim – I’m not used to living with women who are half-naked. This is harder than what I thought it would be.

“Basically I’m around a group of women who are half-naked, which in my religion and culture I shouldn’t really be.”
