Best TV shows on TV tonight
Mary Berry's Fantastic Feasts, 8pm, BBC One
Dame Mary helps novice cooks prepare a surprise feast in an episode originally scheduled for 9 March. Youth-charity volunteers Mark, Thaer and Callum want to treat Soraya, who set up the charity and does a lot of work in the community. Mary thinks an afternoon tea will be perfect, and ropes in presenter Roman Kemp and Celebs Go Dating’s Tom Read Wilson to help out with extras. ("We’re gilding the lily," nods Tom. "We’re what?!" asks a panicked Roman.) Mary’s main task is to teach Mark, Thaer and Callum to make scones, tartlets and cake from scratch – it’s a masterclass from one of our favourite bakers as well as a ‘thank you’ to a very deserving person.

Gazza, 9pm, BBC Two
With a career full of dizzying highs, crushing lows, spectacular goals and wild antics, few footballers have captured the imagination of England fans like Paul Gascoigne. Now, the story of his on-field genius and chequered private life is told in a candid two-part documentary, in which he opens up about some of his most famous moments. Tonight’s opening episode takes in his meteoric rise, his tears at Italia ’90 and the beginning of ‘Gazzamania’. It’s a moving tale in which Gascoigne often plays both the hero and the villain.

Durham Cathedral is the destination for another Baker day out, as the trio go behind the scenes at the majestic building that is still very much at the heart of the local community. Matt takes a trip to a local quarry to help blast stone for a restoration project before he braves the freezing waters of the River Wear for a treasure hunt. Dad Mike has a lovely time meeting the owls in the cloisters, while Janice helps create a new tapestry. Matt also meets the bell ringers and the family try out as choristers.

Our Great National Parks, Netflix
Former US President Barack Obama narrates this five-part series, made by his own production company, which celebrates national parks around the world, looking at how they support endangered species and essential research. Among the stunning wildlife to be featured are orcas and sea otters that inhabit Monterey Bay in California and the mountain gorillas of Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. A visually stunning treat.

The Split, seasons 1–3, BBC iPlayer
The brilliantly overwrought Stern-Defoe clan are back for an explosive third and final series, and it was worth the wait! Available in full on the BBC iPlayer, seasons 1 and 2 (six episodes each) are also there if you’ve missed this gem of a drama and want to catch up. Season 3 begins as Hannah (Nicola Walker) and Nathan (Stephen Mangan) are tiptoeing carefully through a ‘good’ divorce, although Hannah isn’t quite ready to say farewell. However, a revelation – at one of the most awkward dinners we’ve ever witnessed! – will ensure friction for the weeks ahead. With secrets and angst also bubbling away for Hannah’s sisters Rose and Nina, the drama’s trademark mix of tears and wry humour is firmly in evidence, but get ready for some epic, life-changing curveballs.
