ITV has confirmed that that long-running singing talent show The X Factor will return at the end of August
The new series of The X Factor premieres on Saturday, August 27, ITV has confirmed.
The popular talent programme will see head judge Simon Cowell star alongside returning judges Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh.
Dermot O’Leary returns as presenter after leaving the show at the end of the 2014 series, taking over from last year’s hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack.
This year’s series will see the return of the intimate room auditions, and clips from these have been used in a promotional teaser for the show.
The new promo – a mash-up of the judges 'singing' Girls Aloud hit Something Kinda Ooooh – will screen on ITV tonight between Emmerdale and Coronation Street.
It’s certainly an entertaining look at the auditions and what fans of the show can expect, and there will no doubt be some memorable acts in the early stage of the competition.
The X Factor will continue on Sunday August 28, one day after the opening show.
