Tina O'Brien says her former partner, ex Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas, will be invited to her wedding to Adam Crofts
Coronation Street actress Tina O’Brien says her former partner Ryan Thomas will be her wedding when she takes the walk down the aisle.
Tina returned to Corrie in 2015 to reprise the role of Sarah-Louise Platt and Ryan was one of the first to welcome her back.
The actor, who played her character’s ex-husband Jason Grimshaw for 16 years until his recent departure, is the father of Tina’s seven-year-old daughter Scarlett.
Tina, 32, is engaged to personal trainer Adam Crofts, the father of her 21-month-old son Beau.
During an interview with The Sun, in which she discussed her family’s very modern set-up, she also mentioned the wedding.
When asked if Ryan would be invited, she replied: “It would be wrong not to.”
Best known for her portrayal of Weatherfield’s troubled resident, Tina joined the soap in 1999 and one of her biggest storylines has revolved around the subject of teenage pregnancy.
Sarah discovered she was pregnant with daughter Bethany at the age of 13 and the father was Neil Fearns (actor Paul Holowaty), who later died in a car crash.
Tina left the cobbles in 2007, returning to television to play student Bex Fisher in BBC1 school drama Waterloo Road from 2010 to 2011.
In Corrie, the turmoil continues for single mother Sarah, who gave birth to the baby of deceased drug dealer Callum Logan (Sean Ward).
Away from work, Rusholme-born star Tina has said Scarlett set her up with fiance Adam following a chance encounter in a coffee shop five years ago.
She told Hello! magazine: “We would never have started talking had it not been for Scarlett because Adam had his headphones in when Scarlett went over to him and said, ‘Hello, man’.
Tina was broken-hearted after being unceremoniously dumped by Ryan, a year after she had given birth to Scarlett.
However, the actress said everyone’s moved on and they’re all happy.
The couple are on cordial terms with Ryan, who is dating a marketing consultant. The actor has spent Christmas with them and Adam helped Ryan bulk up his body.
There is no date set for Tina's wedding.
