Everyone thought Ben (Harry Reid) would be released from custody after the police got their hands on Max for the murder of Lucy Beale.
“They ain’t gonna charge Ben now, are they, now they know about Max,” Phil (Steve Mcfadden) told the gathering of worried Mitchells - and Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald), who had turned her father in to the police.
But we have pictures from Monday's episode that suggest not everything goes the way Phil expects it to… And his family’s already furious with him for giving the police the evidence they needed - Lucy’s phone and purse - to put Ben with Lucy on the night she was killed.
Click here for our pictures special, showing how Ben crumbles in custody, while Max (Jake Wood) looks, well…see for yourself how he reacts to police questioning.
The entire drama unfolds in EastEnders on BBC1, Monday, July 27, 8.00pm.
