Art critic Alastair and art historian Janina have different tastes, which is refreshing as it challenges the idea of an expert's opinion as gospel.

Tonight, they are on a whistle-stop tour of Amsterdam, taking in the waterways, the Rijksmuseum and Rembrandt’s house – and Janina even gets instruction from an ex-prostitute on how to pose in a red-light-district window ('You should not wave like Santa Claus!' she points out).

You may not want to do that, but there are heaps of other interesting ideas if you're planning a short break to the city.
