Still oblivious to the scandal surrounding his girlfriend Maya's secret affair with Jacob, lovestruck David plans to pop the question!

After discovering his girlfriend Maya Stepney is selling her car to raise the money she needs to cover the cost of her divorce, village shopkeeper David Metcalfe decides it's time to really cheer Maya up... by asking her to marry him!

Unfortunately, David's unaware that love cheat Maya has completely fallen out of love with him... and into bed with his teenage son, Jacob Gallagher!

When Jacob hears David is planning to propose to Maya using his late stepmum Val's ring, he's thrown into a panic since he recently stole the ring so he can pawn it to raise some money to meet his ex-girlfriend Liv Flaherty's blackmail demands.

She wants £10,000 soon or she'll spill the beans about Jacob's secret affair with his school teacher, Maya.

Overcome with guilt at seeing his dad David so happy, what will Jacob do about the missing ring?

Elsewhere in the village, Rhona Goskirk's jealousy gets the better of her after she spied boyfriend Pete Barton looking rather too happy chatting with ex-wife Debbie Dingle and her kids.

The couple soon kiss and make-up. But when Rhona discovers Pete confided in Debbie about her menopause, she feels furious and humiliated.
