What’s this, Santa banged up in jail? Well, yes, it’s true! The poor bloke (Jim Broadbent) is in trouble after crashing his sleigh during a pre-Christmas test drive and no one believes he’s the real Mr Claus.
So it's up to ex-con Steve (Rafe Spall) and his young son (Kit Connor) to free him and save Christmas. What follows is a bit daft, although it's still an enjoyable, family-friendly festive caper featuring a host of familiar faces.
Jim Broadbent seems to have a thing about Santa – he voiced him in the 2011 hit Aardman animation Arthur Christmas (showing on C4 this afternoon).
