Heath breaks the bad news to Darcy

Connie tells Heath she won't be agreeing to his request for joint custody of Darcy - after the kidnapping, she won't risk her safety again. Heath will be allowed supervised visits but that's all. Heath explains to Darcy that it's because he used to be a criminal and she blames him for the whole situation and storms off. Heath blames himself for ruining Darcy's life and his guilt drives him to split up with Bianca. She knows it's because he's hurting but Heath claims the relationship isn't working out for him.

Tamara tries to work out how she can afford a place to live and Casey suggests they move in together, motivating them both to look for a job. Casey's record prevents him from getting a job as the school janitor but Gina directs him to John who takes him on as the surf club handyman.

Maddy meets Gina at the diner and is delighted to learn she can enrol and take up her music again. Her joy is short-lived, however, as Roo has invited her mother, Tanya, down and she wants Maddy to go home with her. Maddy insists she's going nowhere until Spencer – after a talk from Roo – convinces her to give her parents another chance.
