In a bid to protect her good friend Fletch, Jac Naylor has harsh words for his dad Steven…

After a rocky reunion, it seems director of nursing Fletch is starting to enjoy having his estranged father Steven back in his life. Jac Naylor, however, thinks Steven’s up to no good and goes to great lengths to protect her friend.

Fiery surgeon Jac Naylor (Rosie Marcel) initially grows suspicious when Steven (Jesse Birdsall) almost collapses on her but refuses to undergo any tests.

Steven soon admits he knows what’s wrong: he suspects he has the same hereditary lung disease that his own father died of – and Jac’s furious that Steven refuses to tell son Fletch (Alex Walkinshaw) that he too could develop the same condition. Jac warns Steven that if he doesn't tell Fletch, she will!

Jac knows Fletch is beginning to trust his dad but she fears Steven's just playing games. So Jac tells Steven that, if he's planning to abandon his son again, he should do it immediately.

Later, Fletch is devastated when he reads a note from his dad, informing him he's left Holby. How will Fletch react when he discovers Jac's the one who ran Steven out of town?

Meanwhile, Hanssen is consumed with doubts over his dearest friend Gaskell and starts to investigate him…

And Donna interferes in Xavier and his brother’s relationship and is determined to mend it. But will she do more harm than good?

Holby City continues Tuesdays at 8pm on BBC1.
