It's Polly's last shift as a paramedic and her final callout is to Hannah Fleet, who has severely scalded herself with a pan of boiling water. Polly suspects Hannah is self-harming, as Hannah's been struggling to come to terms with her scars after new doctor, Dylan, pulled her from a burning bus. So when Hannah pleads with Polly to get Dylan to treat her, the young paramedic obliges, as she thinks it will help... Dylan's clearly uncomfortable with Hannah's neediness, and Hannah is hurt by his indifference so Polly decides to intervene more directly. Spotting Dylan ducking off, Polly pursues him and takes Hannah with her. But when they find him the basement looking after his sick dog Hannah is furious and angrily accuses him of caring more for his pet than the person he scarred for life! Unhinged and highly-strung, Hannah grabs a knife and lunges at Dylan who is making for the lift. Unaware of the commotion behind him Dylan departs. Hannah turns round and accidentally stabs Polly. She then flees the scene leaving her for dead. Elsewhere, Kirsty gets to the bottom of Nita's strange behaviour since her abusive father's death. She pushed him down the stairs after he punched her!
