Lauren is raging drunk after being rejected by Joey yet again. Slurring her words, she tells Max that Tanya has been lying to him. Lauren then reveals she was driving the car in the crash and Joey took the rap for her because she was drinking. Max is stunned as Lauren says that Derek persuaded Joey to take the blame. Max is furious that Tanya has kept such a big thing from him. Confused about why she kept it a secret, Lauren blurts out that Tanya didn't want Max to know that she was sleeping with Joey! Tanya is furious with Lauren and when Lauren refuses to hand over the bottle of vodka, Tanya snaps and slaps her. Tanya confesses that she told Joey to leave Walford if he loved Lauren, to stop Lauren having the misery of seeing him every day. Lauren is overwhelmed to learn that Joey really does love her, but filled with rage to learn that Derek made Joey break up with Lauren in the first place. Realising Tanya knew all along, Lauren loses it, ripping up Tanya's wedding dress and smashing her cake! Also, Alfie's world crashes around him now that he knows the truth about Kat's lover.
