Daphne du Maurier's gothic romance is reimagined in this film premiere of My Cousin Rachel

This ‘did she/didn’t she’ Victorian romp is a fine adaptation of Daphne du Maurier’s gothic romance novel, with Rachel Weisz on good form as the mysterious titular character.

Before he has even laid eyes on her, Sam Claflin is determined to wreak furious vengeance on her, believing Weisz to have killed his cousin (and the man who raised him) when she married him.

But when Claflin meets her, he falls for her almost instantly. Is he about to meet the same fate as his cousin?

A handsome movie, that is really lifted above the norm by a commanding performance from Weisz, who rarely reveals her hand.
