Hellbent on getting Sonya out of the picture for good, wicked nanny Alice steps up her revenge plans and decides to poison unsuspecting Sonya...

Having so far failed in her wicked attempts to drive former addict Sonya Rebecchi back onto the demon drink and wreck her and Toadie's marriage, scheming nanny Alice Wells plots a most unpleasant surprise for unsuspecting Sonya...

After setting up a fake order for Sonya's gardening business, Alice offers to accompany Sonya on the road-trip out into the bush to deliver the items. But little does Sonya know, it could be a one-way trip!

Having secretly dipped a pair of gardening gloves in pesticide the night before, Alice encourages Sonya to wear the gloves to handle the items. As the women pull to the side of the road for a break, will Alice get away with her poisonous plans?

Neighbours, Gary Canning

Cash-strapped Gary gets a dodgy new job (Picture: Channel 5)

Meanwhile, Gary Canning is still desperate to pay back the loan from his girlfriend Amy Williams and wastes no time in getting to work as a "removals man" for a bunch of dodgy geezers Gary's ex-criminal mate, Kev, has put him in touch with.

As his first hefty cash payment comes in, Gary intends to make good on his re-payments to Amy. But will she wonder how Gary is suddenly flashing the cash?

Elsewhere in Erinsborough, legal assistant Piper Willis is suspicious when her boss Toadie asks her to leave the office before a meeting. Since she's usually involved in the cases he takes on, Piper starts to wonder who Toadie's secret client is.

And Jane Harris continues to play peacekeeper between Paul Robinson and his family. But when Jane arranges a catch-up lunch with Paul, his son Leo Tanaka and new lady Terese Willis, things are super-awkward and Jane soon realises Paul's family troubles are far from fixed!

Neighbours continues weekdays at 1:45pm and 5:30pm on Channel 5

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters.

Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave?

Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!" Stewart) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aussie soap.
