After meeting new recruit DC Stevie Moss (ex-EastEnders star Lucy Speed), DCs Mickey Webb and Terry Perkins are briefed on a hit-and-run which has left Robbie Nash unconscious. When the car involved is traced to Canley Town footballer, Jem Archer, the officers question Jem, his fiancee Michelle, and Ernie Rosen, Jem's manager and Michelle's father. While Stevie quizzes Robbie in hospital, the offers learn that Jem, Robbie and Michelle were seen arguing in a bar and it soon transpires that Robbie and Jem are secretly dating - and Michelle knows all about it. Jem admits that when he tried to end things with Michelle to be with Robbie, Michelle left the club in a fury. Ernie then breaks down and admits that he ran Robbie over, unable to face the personal and professional humiliation of Jem being outed as gay. But Pc Sally Armstrong eventually uncovers new evidence to suggest that Ernie is lying - and the culprit is a lot closer to home...
