As memories of Afghanistan continue to haunt him, Strike's first baffling case draws to a close (a second begins next week) and he unearths the truth about who killed Lula Landry.

With the help of CCTV footage, a visit to Lula's adoptive mother Lady Yvette (the wonderful Siân Phillips) and some pretty shrewd detective work, he makes some very surprising deductions leading to a dramatic showdown.

Robin is demonstrating nifty sleuthing skills herself as she visits Lula's favourite boutique and also makes headway with tracing the model’s birth family.
