Doctor Zoe Hanna makes a surprise return to Holby ED this week! Unfortunately it’s a flying visit, as Zoe’s on her way to a conference in Madrid. She claims she’s back to see Dylan and her ED pals but it isn’t long before Zoe (Sunetra Sarker) seeks out her estranged husband Max…

Elsewhere, nurse Jacob Masters returns from his holidays, and there’s one person he’s not happy to see – former best friend, doctor Elle Gardner. Before Christmas Elle revealed Jacob (Charles Venn) is the biological father to her 17-year-old son Blake. This week Jacob tells Elle, in no uncertain terms, their friendship is dead and he wants nothing to do with Blake. In fact, Jacob doesn’t even want Blake to know he’s his real father!

When bullied schoolboy Blake winds up in the ED after a cruel prank goes wrong, will Jacob have a change of heart?

Meanwhile, Dylan is delighted to see Zoe. Will the struggling clinical lead reveal he’s secretly seeking solace in dangerous amounts of booze?

Also this week Emmerdale and Corrie star Claire King guest stars as a world-weary mum, Caryl. When her drug-addicted son Paul turns up begging for money she slams the door in his face. Later, she ends up visiting him in hospital. Can Charlie help reconcile mother and son?
