Xtro | The 1980s British sci-fi horror gets a limited edition restoration Blu-ray release

Xtro

A 'must-see' cult rental of the 1980s, Xtro is one of the most outrageously bizarre, gory and insanely enjoyable horror films of its time.

Xtro

The 1980s British sci-fi Xtro begins just like any other sci fi, young Tony Phillips (Simon Nash) and his father Sam (Philip Sayer) are playing in the garden together, when Sam suddenly disappears into the sky in a blazing beam of light.

Three years later, the light returns and dumps a half human half alien creature. After slaughtering a couple who inadvertently stumble on it in a country road, the creature impregnates a woman who gives birth to a fully formed Sam. He then heads to London, to seek out his son and wife Rachel (Bernice Stegers)…

And that's when Xtro becomes its own beast indeed, propelling you on the most outrageous journey you'll ever experience, complete with prowling panther, toy soldiers coming to life, and a birthing scene that out-grosses even the one in Alien.

Xtro makes its arrival for the first time on Blu-ray courtesy of Second Sight Films as Xtro: Limited Edition Box Set in a newly restored version complete with a raft of new extras, including an hour-long documentary charting the film’s history and its impact, alongside its original alternate ending too. Plus, there's a preview of the new rebooted Xtro currently being worked on by original creators Harry Bromley-Davenport and Mark Forstater. Can you stomach Xtro?
