There is a scene in this Alistair MacLean wartime adventure where lead actors Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood had to scale a castle wall. While the young and fit Eastwood opted to climb the wall for real, the hard-drinking and somewhat out-of-shape Burton had to be winched up by a crane!

As a result, in the finished scene Eastwood looks exhausted at the top, while Burton looks suspiciously unaffected.
