Which Coronation Street star is heading to Emmerdale?
Callum Logan’s mum is now rapist Lee Posner’s mum…
Emmerdale bosses have announced that Susan Cookson is heading to the Dales next month to play Wendy Posner, the mother of Victoria Sugden’s rapist, Lee.
The actress is no stranger to soap, having played Marion Logan – the mum of drug dealer Callum – in Coronation Street, from 2015-2016. Which, in a weird soap way means that evil Lee and the now late Callum are brothers!
Says Susan: “I am thrilled and delighted to be joining the community, both on and off screen, that is Emmerdale. I am also excited about tackling all the gritty and emotional storylines that are ahead for Wendy. I'm thrilled to be playing such a fantastic character.”
Victoria was raped by Lee in April, when she invited him back to her house after meeting him on the villagers’ big night out.
But the car salesman hasn’t been charged with the attack, due to a lack of evidence, and recently told Victoria’s bitter brother Robert that she was a “cheap tart” who was “asking for it.”

His vile comments prompted Robert to take matters into his own hands, and he and husband Aaron put up posters in and around Lee’s workplace, exposing him as a rapist.
Pub chef Victoria is now pregnant as a result of the rape and, much to the shock of her family, has decided to keep her baby.
Show bosses have given little away about what happens when Wendy arrives in the village, but they have teased that “trouble looms large.”
Meanwhile, a picture from a future episode shows Wendy looming over a frightened Victoria in the Woolpack toilets.
Adds Emmerdale’s Executive Producer Jane Hudson: “Susan is a fabulous addition to the cast, and we are delighted to have welcomed her onto the Emmerdale team.
"She is a brilliant actor and we can’t wait for the drama Wendy brings to play out.”’
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
When she is not writing about soaps, watching soaps, or interviewing people who are in soaps, she loves going to the theatre, taking a long walk or pottering about at home, obsessing over Farrow and Ball paint.
