While EastEnders was packed with drama, it seems Coronation Street fans felt their favourite soap was lacking in action and excitement - and took to Twitter to say so.
"That was the most ridiculously crap episode of Coronation Street I have ever seen. No storyline and terrible acting,” tweeted one viewer.
“The Coronation Street Christmas special is so disappointing,” tweeted another.
The episode saw Tyrone Dobbs’ (Alan Halsall) Lapland creation come to life for Fiz's (Jennie McAlpine) daughter, Hope, who is battling cancer, then Tyrone propose to Fiz.
“Coronation Street is dripping in treacle tonight. I know it’s Christmas but we need some drama! #corrie”
Simon Barlow did rebel and help himself to too many biscuits but the only real drama came at the end, when Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) was busted by boyfriend Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) for visiting her ex, Rob, in prison.
Tracy thought Robert was going to propose and had decided to choose him over Rob (Marc Baylis) - but Robert dumped her, in the Rovers, in front of everyone.
