Ashley learns he has dementia

*Second episode*

It’s time for Ashley to find out what’s really going on with his failing memory. With Bob by his side, the terrified vicar arrives at the hospital where he’s given life-changing news. Diagnosed with early onset vascular dementia, Ashley’s worst fears have been confirmed. As he crumbles, Bob urges him to tell Harriet.

Later, Ashley’s prepped and ready to break the bad news to his girlfriend, but a comment from Harriet stops him in his tracks. While Harriet remains in the dark about what’s eating Ashley, in private, he breaks down knowing his world is about to implode.

Having crashed into the side of the church with Kerry while they’re out riding a tandem, Bernice dusts herself down. She’s worried about her wrist, but the barmaid soon realises Kerry’s got way more to worry about. Her friend really wasn’t messing about when she said she couldn’t see.

Freaking out, Kerry’s taken to hospital where she learns it’s not a brain tumour, as she feared – it’s diabetic retinopathy caused by poor diet and lifestyle. She’s going to need surgery. Will this be Kerry’s wake up call?
