The first semi-final of Bake Off: Crème de la Crème sees a team of RAF military chefs take on a team from a five star hotel

The first semi-final sees a team of RAF military chefs take on a team from a five star hotel. The initial challenge has two stages to it.

The first is to create six Crown Entremets – a multi-layered cake filled with contrasting textures and finished with a high-gloss glaze.

The second is live table plating, where the teams have three minutes to serve their dessert as a piece of theatre – with as much drama and extravagance as they can muster.

The last challenge to win a place in the grand final is a sugar showpiece on the theme of an English country garden alongside 120 pieces of elegant and delicious confectionery.
