Things take a complicated turn when Dr Emma Reid discovers someone has made a formal complaint about her on Doctors. But WHO?

It looks like Dr Emma Reid (played by Dido Miles) is in BIG trouble in today's episode of Doctors (1:45pm on BBC One, see our TV Guide for full listings), after a patient makes a formal complaint against her...

The trouble begins after Emma discovers a former patient, Sonia Gill (Manpreet Bambra), is giving a talk at the local university.

Emma decides to attend the talk and catch-up with Sonia and find out the latest about her heart condition, after hearing she has developed some post-surgical complications.

However, Emma clearly says the wrong thing after Sonia rushes off in a distressed state and later that day surgery practice manager Becky Clarke (Ali Bastian) reports that someone has filed a complaint against Emma for asking personal questions about her medical condition in public!

Has Sonia made the complaint against Emma? Or is someone else trying to get the medic into trouble?

Doctors, Emma Reid, Sonia Gill

Has patient Sonia Gill, who has a heart condition, filed a complaint against Dr Emma Reid on Doctors?

Meanwhile, Becky discovers she doesn't know boyfriend Daniel Granger (Matthew Chambers) quite as well as she thought, when he confirms the rumours he once had a fling with their colleague Jimmi Clay's (Adrian Lewis Morgan) then wife, Cherry.

When Becky questions whether Daniel has ever been completely faithful to the previous ladies in his life, he is forced to admit he hasn't.

Daniel insists he has changed and would never cheat on Becky. But what a liar! There's something BIG Daniel still hasn't told Becky about, involving his soon-to-be ex-wife Zara Carmichael (Elisabeth Dermot Walsh). But the truth is gonna come out sooner or later...

Elsewhere, surgery receptionist Karen Hollins (Jan Pearson) is trying to learn how to use a digital camera so she can film the staff interviews for her daughter Immie's (Charlie Clemmow) project for the Letherbridge Art Fest.

But Karen "Steven Spielberg" Hollins she ain't, after the camera accidentally gets knocked over and a crisis looms. Argh!

Doctors continues weekdays at 1:45pm on BBC One

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters. Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave? Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

Simon has written for a variety of TV and childrens’ magazines/websites including Inside Soap, Nickelodeon, What’s On TV, Radio Times, Metro, Girl Talk, Disney Girl, Toxic! and Digital Spy. He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!"
