A scared Lisa Dingle contemplates her future but it's all too much for her heart-broken other half Zack

Lisa Dingle (Jane Cox) has been putting on a very brave face since being diagnosed with a terminal heart condition. The strong-willed matriarch has been keeping things together and doing her best to carry on with her life as normal, however having finally confessed to her family that she is dying, the enormity of the situation is finally catching up with her.

With everyone now in the know, Lisa finds herself contemplating her future and in a quiet moment alone with Zack she tells him that she’s frightened of dying and can’t help worrying what will happen when she finally goes.

Zack is on hand to comfort her but it’s clear he’s also struggling with the situation and despite doing his best to reassure Lisa it’s all too much for the sensitive soul.

Lisa is worried when a heart-broken Zack later does a disappearing act and vanishes. What has happened to Zack and where has he gone?

Meanwhile when David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) discovers that Jacob (Joe-Warren Platt) failed to turn up for his first GCSE exam, he’s sent into a spin.

Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade) urges him to go to the police but a resolute David refuses and wants to handle the situation in his own way.

Elsewhere Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) feels terrible when she lies to vicar Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) and reassures her that she hasn’t had any contact with her father, Will. If only Harriet knew the truth!

This is the first of two Emmerdale episodes on ITV this evening.
