Emmerdale spoilers: Rhona Goskirk spies Pete Barton with ex-wife Debbie Dingle!

Rhona is gutted to see Pete being friendly with Jack and Sarah in Emmerdale

It's not looking good for Rhona and Pete's relationship when the village vet finds her boyfriend has sneaked off to see his ex-wife, Debbie!

Things have been very up and down between Rhona Goskirk and her boyfriend Pete Barton since the village vet's life-changing hysterectomy and the sudden on-set of the menopause.

The couple seem to have lost their spark. So when Pete discovers Rhona has secretly been helping Kim Tate track down her estranged son Jamie, he's annoyed she's helping the woman the rest of the village despise.

So Pete decides to innocently confide in his ex-wife, Debbie Dingle about dramas on the homefront. But when Rhona sees Pete having a laugh with Debbie and her kids, Sarah and Jack outside Keeper's Cottage, she's gutted.

Are the couple doomed to drift further apart?

Meanwhile, twisted Maya Stepney has had to think fast on her feet after her suspicious boyfriend David Metcalfe caught her trying to sell her car.

She is relieved when he appears to believe she needs to raise some extra money to cover the cost of her divorce from ex-husband Liam Cavanagh.

Will Maya soon have enough money to meet the £10,000 blackmail demands of teenager Liv Flaherty, who is threatening to expose the scandal of school teacher Maya's secret affair with 16-year-old student, Jacob Gallagher...

Second episode of Emmerdale tonight.

Writer

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters. Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave? Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

Simon has written for a variety of TV and childrens’ magazines/websites including Inside Soap, Nickelodeon, What’s On TV, Radio Times, Metro, Girl Talk, Disney Girl, Toxic! and Digital Spy. He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!" Stewart) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aussie soap.

Simon is also co-author of The Treasures Of Coronation Street (Carlton Books)

And the writer and director of (very!) low budget fright flick, Midsummer Night's EVIL and the sequel webisodes series, The Hatchet Woods HORROR.
