Emmerdale, Kim Tate, Jai Sharma

With the Sharma family facing financial ruin after the factory fire, will bossman Jai be forced to accept an offer from Kim to buy the business?

As the fallout from the factory fire continues on Emmerdale, Jai Sharma (played by Chris Bisson) is still furious with his dad Rishi (Bhasker Patel) for borrowing a high interest loan from wealthy business woman Kim Tate (Claire King).

With no way to repay the loan, the Sharma family are facing financial ruin. And as the tension cranks-up, Rishi's wife Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) feels caught-in-the-middle of all the drama and runs off, ready to pack her bags and leave!

Can Jai and his sister Priya (Fiona Wade) convince Manpreet to stick around and support Rishi instead of doing a runner?

Meanwhile, the vultures are circling and Kim has already made a surprise offer to bail out the Sharma family and buy the factory!

Elsewhere in the village, it looks like Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) could soon be on the move again... to Scotland after being left a garage business in the will of late family relative, Lisa Dingle.

But having built bridges with daughter Debbie since their MASSIVE falling out (over the mystery circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Debbie's fiance Joe Tate), Cain (Jeff Hordley) reacts badly to the news and also wonders how Debbie's mum Charity (Emma Atkins) will take it. Under pressure from her parents, will Debbie change her mind about leaving the village?

Emmerdale continues weekdays at 7:00pm on ITV

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters. Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave? Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

Simon has written for a variety of TV and childrens’ magazines/websites including Inside Soap, Nickelodeon, What’s On TV, Radio Times, Metro, Girl Talk, Disney Girl, Toxic! and Digital Spy. He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!" Stewart) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aussie soap.
