Kate continues her quest to discover more about the role of women in some of the world’s most extreme communities.

This time she is in Jerusalem, with a very strict Jewish group called the Haredim.

With their tough rules on modesty for women and TV considered evil, Kate knows very little about what being a Haredim woman means. But first she has to find someone who will actually talk to her.

When she eventually finds a way in to this intensely private community, Kate is pretty fearless in getting to the heart of how its rules impact on women’s lives – bearing large families and having to hide their hair with a wig when married.

Challenging, enlightening, but also distressing in places.
