Another chance to see this case from last year, in which the bones of a 16th-century martyr are discovered during an archaeological dig in Midsomer.

While the find is a cause for celebration for some, it soon becomes apparent that the scientists are not a welcome addition to the village. When the dig’s lead archaeologist is murdered, DCI Barnaby and DS Nelson have some digging of their own to do.

As the body count rises, it becomes apparent that the murderer could be any one of a number of locals – who all have skeletons of their own to keep buried – including a corrupt vicar, a bitter historian, a jealous husband and a gun-toting farmer…

Julia Sawalha, Ruth Sheen, Ralf Little and Aden Gillett also star.
