The award-winning children’s documentary series My Life continues to tackle important issues, and this week we meet Shanti, nine, and Kalvin, 17, who lost their mother Seema to cancer in 2015.

Seema remained positive during her treatment, recording her feelings on a vlog.

Now the children have decided they’re ready to fulfil some of her last wishes, among them to record a song she wrote for them, to learn to swim and drive and to go to university.

As you’d expect, it’s a poignant watch, and Shanti and Kalvin’s personal account will offer hope to young people dealing with loss.
