Competition has got itself a bad reputation recently, but as psychologist Dr Sam Wass points out, our children are dealing with competition every minute of every day in the playground so it’s best if they can learn early on how to win or lose with grace and resilience.

A game of musical statues brings out the worst in one young boy, who throws a tearful tantrum about being told to sit down.

But it's here he learns a vital lesson and later on – after a chat with super teacher Kate – he behaves totally differently when he also loses a football match.

Bad losers are no fun at any age – if only every workplace had a 'Kate' to show people the error of their ways!
