A family is relocating to a new house when they take a wrong turning and end up in an abandoned theme park. After tucking into the tempting food, the adults are turned into pigs, leaving their feisty young daughter to fend for herself in a magical spa for the gods of old Japan – where she must work until the spell on her parents can be reversed.

This brings her into contact with all manner of weird and wonderful creatures, some enchanting, some creepy, but all realised with richly detailed, amazingly subtle animation.

Funny, scary, thrilling and breathtakingly beautiful, the film draws the viewer into a unique magical world.

A masterpiece.
