Alarm bells rang for Marcus Dent (Charlie Condou) when Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) said the baby she was expecting hadn’t been moving so much. And a scan confirmed his worst fears – the baby had died in the womb. Maria was devastated and terrified that, as well as losing her baby she would lose her husband Liam (Rob James-Collier) and struggled to break the tragic news to him. So she kept Liam in the dark and he thought she was behaving strangely because of a previous row they had had over Carla Connor…
Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) lived to regret making a mug of Paul Clayton (Tom Hudson) when she and lover Dan Mason (Matthew Crompton) were arrested on suspicion of arson after she persuaded Paul to torch her failing restaurant for her. They were released on bail but there was more bad news to come when they got home – the insurance company had cancelled the payout cheque after learning the fire was arson.

It started with a kiss… and led to a whole lot more when Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) got passionate in the office at the R & R club. Later, as they straightened their clothes, they were appalled they had let things go so far and could hardly bear to look at one another. How were they going to face Ronnie Mitchell and stop her finding out what they had done?
Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky) was taking heartbreak to a whole new level after being dumped by Tanya Branning. He was venting his fury on poor Gus Smith, tormenting him and keeping him prisoner at his flat. And when Sean’s sister Stacey Branning (Lacey Turner) discovered what was going on she headed off to find Sean, fearing he was losing his mind. She found him, sitting on a swing at the playground, clearly in despair. Could she help him?

When Terry got back he was shocked to see TJ being lifted into an ambulance as Louise explained he had taken a turn for the worse. The doctors feared TJ had Ecoli and told Terry the next 12 hours would be critical…
Katie Sugden (Sammy Winward) was suspicious when she discovered that Gray Sinclair (Christopher Villiers) had been paying secret visits to his estranged wife Perdy behind her back.
