Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) secretly aborted David Platt’s baby behind his back - egged on by his mum Gail - but David smelt a rat, confronted Gail and she was forced to tell him the truth. They were at the top of the stairs at the time and, as the red mist descended, David shoved Gail out of his way, causing her to crash down the stairs. Then he panicked and did a runner, leaving her for dead. She wasn’t dead, but it was a close thing!
Claire Peacock never could keep her nose out of other people’s business and when she interfered over Chesney Brown’s living arrangements he ended up in care! Fiz was away and Kirk Sutherland (Andrew Whyment) was looking after Ches (Sam Aston) - only not well enough for Claire’s liking, or the social worker’s who came to check. Kirk was devastated when Ches was sent to a foster home, but when he visited Ches, along with ever-faithful Schmeichel, Ches's main worry was how Kirk was coping without him!

Tanya Branning (Jo Joyner) and lover Sean Slater were enjoying a little afternoon delight when estranged husband Max (Jake Wood) arrived back early with the girls so panicking Tanya told Sean to escape through the window. Only he forgot his watch, so when Tanya and Max came upstairs they had no idea Sean was hiding under the bed.
