Coronation Street actress Brooke Vincent says she'll be giving it some 'Girl Power' in Sunday night's final of the skating show

Brooke Vincent is thrilled to be the only woman through to the final of Dancing on Ice.

Coronation Street actress Brooke - best known as the ITV soap's Sophie Webster - was chatting to whatsontv.co.uk on Thursday March 8 which, rather significantly, is International Women’s Day.

When asked how she felt about being the last woman standing, the actress replied: “It’s a massive honour being the only girl in the final. And on International Women’s Day as well! Can we get a hallelujah!?”

On Sunday night, Brooke will be skating against rugby star Max Evans and reality TV favourite Jake Quickenden for the chance of clinching the title of Dancing on Ice champion 2018.

Brooke hopes that just by making it to the final, she’ll encourage young girls in particular to push for success.

She said: “It’s amazing for me to be able to stand there and say to all the little girls that are watching: ‘I was rubbish for the first few weeks. I wasn’t confident and I wasn’t really getting that much better, then all of sudden everything turned around'. That’s a strong message; to say to young girls that, if you keep at it, eventually things pay off!"

Whoever wins on Sunday night, Brooke vowed to give it her best shot.

“It doesn’t really matter if you’re a boy or girl, there are three finalists and only one of us can win," said Brooke. “It’s just massive for me to be able to say: ‘You know what, Girl Power, let’s go!’”

Dancing on Ice - The Final can be seen on Sunday March 11 at 6pm on ITV.
