Soap fans are obsessed with this hilarious moment from last night's trip to Walford...

Boxing Day's EastEnders has got fans tweeting in their droves, but it's not Alfie Moon's miraculous recovery from the dead that had everyone excited, it was the sheer brilliance of the new legend in Albert Square... Jean Slater.

After Christmas Day's action-packed episode saw Alfie shoved down the stairs by Hayley Slater, fans faced an agonising 24 hour wait until last night's episode to find out if he was dead or alive.

Kat was convinced that Alfie's fall has killed him

Fans spent most of Boxing Day's episode thinking that Alfie had met his maker thanks to falling down the stairs and hitting his head on a pile of logs in the hallway... but in a huge twist, the end of the episode saw Kat discover he was gone.

The Slater women were left uncharacteristically speechless when the police arrived and they showed them into the front room, only to find that Alfie was not only not dead, but also had disappeared completely.

But it wasn't only Alfie who was missing. Hayley was devastated to find that he had snatched baby Cherry from her Moses basket and driven off into the night without anyone realising.

While fans were loving the dramatic turn of events, it was clear that there was just one star of the show this Christmas, and that's the amazing Jean Slater...

As Hayley, Stacey and Kat sat in shock after Alfie had apparently died and they'd moved the body into the lounge, fans were beside themselves as Jean fussed around her family, making tea and crumpets for everyone... while stepping over Alfie's "corpse" like it wasn't even there!

The moment will no doubt go down in EastEnders history as one of the best Christmas moments, and with soap bosses promising big things for Jean in 2019, it looks like this is just the start of amazing things to come from the character.

We can't wait to see what she gets up to next!

EastEnders airs Monday and Friday at 8pm and Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC1.
