The Diplomat, 9pm, Alibi
The Spanish city of Barcelona is the eye-catching backdrop to this series starring Gentleman Jack’s Sophie Rundle as British consul Laura Simmonds, whose job revolves around helping DBNs - aka ‘distressed British nationals’. In episode one, following the death of a British barman in an apparent jet-ski accident, she’s assisting the bereaved father, who’s flown in to identify the body and suspects there’s more to the case than meets the eye.
Meanwhile, the newly arrived consul general, who seems overly keen to send the grieving dad home, gets a mixed reception, and a hen party from Merthyr Tydfil has a close encounter with a mugger.

Cameras have never been allowed inside Chorley’s Mormon Missionary Training Centre before and it’s difficult to imagine them rushing back given the sometimes ponderous fare on offer in this one-off documentary. The film follows three of the 800 young adults who come from all over the world to train for their two-year missionary posts in the United Kingdom, and offers a fascinating and rare glimpse of life in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. All the participants are affable and happy to talk about their faith, family and hopes for the future, but it’s not easy getting beneath the surface.

Home Greek Home, 9pm, More4
Interior designer and BBC1’s Money for Nothing presenter Sarah Moore has a flair for recycling and she brings that passion to this series in which she restores a house on the Greek island of Skiathos to its former glory. Helping her are the locals she has come to know over her many years of visiting the island.

Jimmy Doherty looks into the superfood claims made for pomegranates. Briony May Williams discovers how many apples are in a can of cider. And Kate Quilton wonders why cucumbers always come wrapped in plastic (technically a fruit – who knew?).
