There's romance in the air in today's Neighbours as Pierce Greyson proposes to Chloe Brennan... but there's a twist!

Today's Neighbours sees Chloe Brennan and Pierce Greyson get engaged as the Lassiters Melbourne Cup event takes place... but as always with Ramsay Street, it is a proposal with a difference.

As the Melbourne Cup event gets underway, Chloe is a bundle of nerves.

But it's not just the fact that she is overseeing the whole thing now that she is covering Terese Willis as acting manager for Lassiters that has got her in a flap... it is also the fact that she is planning on popping the question to boyfriend Pierce.

With Elly Conway's words of warning still in her ear from yesterday, Chloe is starting to have doubts about proposing.

But when Aaron catches her with the engagement ring for Pierce, he is thrilled and encourages her to follow her heart.

However, with work taking over at the Melbourne Cup, Chloe barley has time to get her proposal ready and she is soon left wondering if it is going to happen at all.

Little does she know, Pierce has had the same idea about getting down on one knee and the pair both end up proposing at the same time.

As Chloe is invited up on stage by Australian magician Cosentino, she thinks she is going to be part of his magic act.

However all becomes clear when Cosentino conjures an engagement ring out of her hair, and she turns round to find Pierce down on one knee.

As he tells Chloe how special she is to him and asks for her hand in marriage, Chloe also gets down on one knee, pulling the engagement ring out that she had bought for Pierce.

However while the pair are in a bubble of happiness after getting engaged... things soon take a shock turn when Hendrix finds out his dad proposed without telling him, and all hell breaks loose.
