Jac Naylor has always struggled to commit to on-off lover Jonny Maconie. The news that she was pregnant with Jonny's baby failed to bring them back together and, this week, Jac decides not to tell Jonny she has her 20-week scan. But Jac's in need of support when obstetrician Mr Thompson tells her the scan shows her baby has a diaphragmatic hernia, which means it has only a 50 per cent chance of surviving beyond birth.

Jac confides in Mo about the result of scan and when Jac assumes Mo has told Jonny, she says he may as well come to the meeting to discuss the baby's condition. Jonny's stunned on hearing the diagnosis and feels a connection with Jac when the scan reveals the baby is a girl. After the meeting, Jac doesn't want to talk but Jonny says he'll support her, whether she decides to continue with the pregnancy or have a termination. What will she decide?
