Becky finds herself feeling really ill. She has been playing Steve for weeks but after a morning throwing up in the toilets it's clear to her that this is more then your average morning sickness. Consumed with pain and fear, Becky heads to a bar and hits the bottle. Steve turns up and is reprimands her for risking the health of their unborn child. But this time Becky knows her time is up, and she has some devastating news for him. Dev's convinced he's blown it with Sunita, but when she turns up on the street and asks Molly to tell him to meet her at the Rovers his spirits soar. Meanwhile, in the pub Sunita bumps into Ciaran, and when Dev spots them chatting all his dreams are dashed. Leanne's exhausted as she works round the clock trying to keep Peter's business running. But when he arrives back on the street, having discharged himself from rehab she wonders whether it was all worth it. Also; Jason struggles to comfort a grieving Tina; Liz wonders how Ciaran will react to her clumsy pass; Gail's mind goes into overdrive when the Police tell her they intend to question Rick. *Second episode, 8.30pm* Steve desperately searches for Becky, knowing full well that if she's really lost the baby she'll be out on a bender. Eventually he finds her drunk and alone, having been thrown out of a pub in town. Dragging her home he attempts to console her, but full of self-loathing she blames herself for the miscarriage. Dev's convinced he's lost Sunita to Ciaran, but Lloyd urges him to hear her out before he gives up. Meeting her in the Rovers he's delighted to hear that she has no interest in Ciaran, and is willing to make a fresh start. Leanne's sceptical when Peter assures her that he has his drinking under control. Things get worse when Peter discovers that Leanne has allowed Simon to go to Spain without his say so. A huge row erupts and it soon becomes clear to both of them that their relationship has been severely damaged by Peter's drinking. Also; Gail admits to sending the birthday text and the police are left to inform a horrified Tina. Letting rip, she tells Gail that it stopped her from reporting him missing and if it wasn't for her he might still be alive. Devastated, Gail is forced to admit that she as good as killed him. An entertainment writer with a diverse taste in TV and film, he lists Seinfeld, The Sopranos, The Chase, The Thick of It and Detectorists among his favourite shows, but steers well clear of most sci-fi.
