Bernie gets a blast from the past!

Bernie's stunned when she finds herself working alongside old army colleague, Alex Dawson (played by ex-Waterloo Road star Heather Peace). The pair work well together but it’s obvious they share a secret that Bernie would much rather had stayed in the past and she gives Alex the cold shoulder… It’s revealed Bernie and Alex had an affair while on duty in Afghanistan, but Bernie ended things to focus on her family and start a new life at Holby.

As Bernie opens up to Alex, however, it's clear they are still very much in love - but Bernie fears her secret will be exposed when Dom spots them kissing! Knowing Alex wants her back, Bernie feels torn between her lover and her husband. It's time for her to decide whether she’s going to follow her heart - or continue living a lie…

Meanwhile, it's Mo's first day as a consultant on Darwin and, while she's putting herself very much in charge, Mr T hears fears the axe may be about to fall on him. When Mr T clashes with Mo over the correct care plan for a pregnant patient, he realises no one takes him seriously. Knowing he must fight for the patient, Mr T finds his voice and proves himself to be every bit Mo's equal... and it seems Mo finds herself quite attracted to this new assertive Mr T!

Also, Serena's personal life is on the up... she's set to move in with Robbie and her nephew Jason has got a girlfriend. But when Robbie learns Jason and his 'girlfriend' have been caught shoplifting, Serena realises Jason's vulnerable and needs someone to look out for him, so she invites him to live with her. It's a decision that spells the end for her future with Robbie...
