Bear Sylvester has only been working at the surgery for five minutes on Doctors. But could it be the new Business Manager is about to quit?

Uh-oh, could it be that Bear Sylvester (played by Dex Lee) is NOT the man for the job after all on Doctors (1:45pm on BBC One, see our TV Guide for full listings)?

With a Partner's Meeting looming in today's episode of Doctors, Bear starts getting anxious and researches information online.

At the meeting with bosses Daniel Granger (Matthew Chambers) and Zara Carmichael (Elisabeth Dermot Walsh), Bear is hopelessly unprepared but somehow still manages to wing it.

But later, after making a mystery phonecall, it looks like Bear is already crumbling under the pressure of his new job. Is he about to QUIT?

Meanwhile, things seem to going well at The Icon with Gareth Regan (Edward MacLiam) as the acting manager of the bar.

Gareth suggests to bar co-owner Al Haskey (Ian Midlane) they should start a Christmas campaign involving mixology classes to bring the punters in, who will hopefully then drink Al's ale. Will Al go for the idea?

ALSO, Al is intrigued when Emma Reid (Dido Miles) comes into the bar and he later spots Emma and Gareth kissing!

Elsewhere in Letherbridge, policeman Rob Hollins (Chris Walker) investigates a possible murder case when a man Ralph Pine (Nicholas Chambers) wakes up in the middle of the night with a head injury and then finds his wife dead on the kitchen floor...

Emma is called in to examine Ralph and see if he is well enough to be discharged from hospital.

Doctors, Emma Reid, Rob Hollins, Ralph Pine

Emma and Rob team-up to investigate when a man's wife is found murdered on Doctors...

But the question is, did Ralph commit the crime?

Doctors continues weekdays at 1:45pm on BBC One

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters. Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave? Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

Simon has written for a variety of TV and childrens’ magazines/websites including Inside Soap, Nickelodeon, What’s On TV, Radio Times, Metro, Girl Talk, Disney Girl, Toxic! and Digital Spy. He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!" Stewart) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aussie soap.
